The Latest Chris Brown Mishap

I'm quite tired of the media continuing to vilify Chris Brown as if NO ONE on this planet has ever messed up, as if no one has ever been young, dumb, and stupid, as if anger has never made anyone lose major control, and as if he doesn't have time in his life to learn and do better. Yes, his actions were wrong. Yes, he messed up! Yes, he deserved to be punished legally for what he did (which he was), but how the heck is he ever supposed to reflect back on it and LEARN from his mistakes if he is never allowed to fully move past it? How many other celebs have done similar (or worse) things that he did, and we still held it over their heads TWO YEARS LATER? The media loves to see people fall, but when they do, is it required media guidelines to keep shoving their face in it?  What is it about our society that makes us want to keep holding bad things over people as if no one can ever forgive and forget? I'm a little disappointed that Robin Roberts was the one who

U.S. Passport Holders By State (MAP)

I can only speak for the South, but I don't think it's necessaril y "never want to"--at least not for the newer generation s. Older generation s--sure. They're quite content to sit still and travel only within the U.S. But the newer generation s (myself included) most definitely want to get out and explore, but it's the economic issue. The South still has way too many poor states which inhibits the ability to travel outside the states. I'm thankful that despite the ability to travel abroad right now, I pay attention to the world and am desperatel y trying to see it. My parents took me all over this country, which gave me the travelling bug, so I'm always itching to explore. I wish more people were too! Read the Article at HuffingtonPost

Our "Lovely" Congress at Work... UGH!

So, despite jobs (and the economy in general) needing to be the number one agenda of Congress right now (and newly elected Repubs claimed it would be), Repubs have chosen to draft an innumerable amount of bills on everything BUT jobs.  O...k. In Charles M. Blow's NYTimes op-ed article , he discusses the large quantity of new bills to be introduced into Congress soon.  Quite honestly, this article scares the shit out of me! I'm trying desperately to understand why this new Congress has chosen to initially ignore the most important aspect of what they were elected for and what we need (jobs) and focus on things that even their own constituents don't really care about.  Oh... I get it.  They don't really care about getting anything done.  They only want to promote their agenda--regardless of who gets hurt in the process. We are hurting.  We are in dire situations these days.  Few things have improved, but at least things got accomplished dealing with the previous Co

WTH!

What's wrong with people these days?  Medical procedures are performed in hospitals and doctors' offices for a reason. Why would you have butt injections done in a hotel room? What's the price of beauty?  Apparently, your life. Use your common people--or at least, someone else's. UGH!

I'm skeptical...

While the actions of our leaders during the previous administration (GWB) leave MUCH to be desired about how we treat others--especially how we treat others during war, I somehow seriously doubt anyone from the previous administration will ever be tried for war crimes. When we think of war crimes, we often think of warlords--more specifically, we think of warlords of ridiculously corrupt and broken African countries. (I'm sure there is something extra wrong about that connection, but I'll handle that on another day.)  We know of warlords being tried and convicted, but I somehow can't recall anyone from the U.S. ever being tried for war crimes. In this new age of 24 hours, WikiLeaks, cameras on every phone or gadget, everyone wanting to be the new, next, hot thing and catch the latest big thing, the truth can't continue to be hidden from us... or can it? I just highly doubt this cases discussed in this article will ever come to fruition.
